How to find the best man for you? This question is asked by every woman at least once in her lifetime, and yet there is a tragic dearth of advice on this topic. Many blogs and magazines have tried answering this question, but the fact that it is still being asked remains.

This is an answer from a man’s perspective.

Women today seem caught up in the quest to find the elusive “Mr Right”, while at the same time we see marriage rates plummeting and divorce at an all-time high. Why is that? After all, if this search was fruitful, we wouldn’t see the trends we are seeing now.

Perhaps both men and women alike suffer from unrealistic expectations: we all grew up watching cartoons, followed by movies depicting perfect people in perfect relationships, living perfect lives; we then imagine ourselves growing up to be like that one day, oblivious to the sad state of reality around us. Mass media has grown so advanced that we readily substitute the fictional reality shown to us for the real world.

Perhaps there is no such thing as Mr or Mrs Right, after all.

Perhaps if we all learned to see goodness in everybody, we could all live happier lives.
